2018 Night of Science and Knowledge celebrated in Sabadell
Award ceremony 2018, Sabadell
Organized by the Bosch i Cardellach Foundation, the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Sabadell City Council, the Parc Taulí Foundation (FPT), the Olga Torres Foundation (FOT), and the School of Design (ESDi), the main event of this third annual Night of Science was held on April 12, 2018 in the Auditorium at the Antigua Caixa Sabadell.

Award ceremony 2017, Sabadell
Organised by the Bosch i Cardellach Foundation, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Sabadell City Council, Parc Taulí Foundation (FPT), Olga Torres Foundation (FOT) and Escola Superior de Disseny (ESDI), the main event was held on May 18, 2017 in the auditorium at the Antiga Caja Sabadell.

We granted the 2018 Outreach Award, created by the Olga Torres Foundation (FOT), during the main event of Sabadell’s Night of Science and Knowledge, held in the Auditorium at the Antiga Caixa Sabadell 1859 Foundation’s Cultural Space on April 12, 2018.
The second annual Outreach Award and a €9,000 cash prize was awarded to Dr. Maria Lluïsa Baré Mañas for the project “The comprehensive prevention of colorectal cancer: collaboration among health professionals, medical students at the Parc Taulí Hospital, and adolescents”, which will be carried out within 24 months by a team from the “Corporació Sanitària del Parc Taulí” in Sabadell, coordinated by Dr. Baré.

The main event of the Night of Science and Knowledge in Sabadell was held in the Auditorium at the Antiga Caixa Sabadell 1859 Foundation’s Cultural Space on May 18, 2017.
An award for the Best Outreach Work on Colorectal Cancer in 2017, organised by the Olga Torres Private Foundation, was also granted at this same event. The jury, made up of representatives from the Night of Science event organisers, decided to grant the award to the project for the development of information items on the prevention of colorectal cancer by ICO/IDIBELL’s “Mejor Sin Cáncer” (Better Without Cancer) platform, co-led by doctors Laura Costas, the platform’s epidemiologist, and Gemma Binefa, head of the ICO Colorectal Cancer Screening Program.

Article on the awards ceremony for the 2018 Post-Doctoral Grants for Colorectal Cancer Research, which took place at the Corporación Sanitaria Parc Taulí de Sabadell auditorium and included a round table on “The Future of Biomedical Research Based on Public-Private Partnerships”, organised in conjunction with Fundació Parc Taulí (Parc Taulí Foundation).
