Therapeutic colonoscopy consists in the application of different treatments through the colonoscope. The most common procedures are:<\/p>

– Polypectomy.
<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

– Mucosectomy.<\/p>

– Management of lower digestive bleeding.<\/p>

– Treatment of sigmoid volvulus.<\/p><\/blockquote>

We will be covering endoscopic polypectomy for the resection of polyps in any phase and mucosectomy in certain cases of cancer in very early stages (\u201cin situ\u201d).<\/p>

For the resection of polyps, we use loop-shaped electrical scalpels that embrace the base of the polyp; strangling it. The polyp, is cut by means of electrical currents.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
